WHAT A PHENOMENAL EXPERIENCE FOR OUR DETROIT YOUTH BUSINESS PARTNERS!

On Saturday, May 7, 2022, our YBP, under the direction of our Detroit Program Director, Caren Jones learned all about financial literacy at Junior Achievement Finance Park. And with our hybrid model, our virtual YBP experienced financial literacy at Do It Big Academy, hosted by the president and founder of Do It Big Academy, Lakeyta Dumas. This was an amazing experience for our YBP. They learned how to budget and save money using a real-life simulation, both in-Person and virtually. Special thanks to our sponsors, Junior Achievement, and Do It Big Academy for making it possible. 5/7/2022 #AvengersMentoring #Youth #Detroit #detroitmichigan #financialliteracy #financialfreedom #juniorachievement #FinancePark #Doitbigacademy

Avengers Community Youth Center & Chess Park Grand Opening

Avengers Youth Mentoring Organization has established a partnership with the Houston Independent School District to transform an old in-school suspension building into a community center for youth. In addition, we built a chess park for community youth to learn strategies and the importance of thinking before making a move. We opened the doors to our youth center and chess park on Saturday, May 21, 2022, and it was a phenomenal event. Community leaders and volunteers joined us in our grand opening and showed the youth that they can count on them to be part of the village that helps them to succeed.

Youth engaged in a football clinic hosted by Northside Oilers, haircuts by young entrepreneur Erikk Vibess, boxing and self-defense techniques led by educator Otto Donis, food served by one of our phenomenal parents, Cherie Goolsby, mentorship and active play by Mr. Jesus Gonzalez, and Emmitt. We also had our game room open, where youth enjoyed video game play and ping-pong, before beating the heat on the giant waterslide bouncer. This day was AMAZING! However, it would not have been possible without the community, our sponsors, and volunteers. We appreciate you!
