Job Posting: Detroit Site Supervisor - Summer Camp
Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Site Supervisor to oversee the operations of our summer camp youth program. The Site Supervisor will be responsible for coordinating and managing various camp activities, ensuring the safety and well-being of participants, and providing leadership to staff members. This is a dynamic role that requires strong organizational skills, effective communication, and a passion for working with children and youth.

Compensation: $2,090, paid in two installments: $1,045 at the beginning of the 3rd week and the remaining $1,045 on the last day of the program.
Responsibilities:
Supervise and oversee the daily operations of the summer camp program, including administration, latchkey services, food services, media and communication, maintenance, and program activities.
Coordinate with camp staff to ensure smooth implementation of the program schedule and activities, including rotations, workshops, and group sessions.
Provide leadership and guidance to camp counselors, workshop leaders, and support staff, fostering a positive and inclusive environment for all participants.
Ensure the safety and well-being of all camp participants by implementing and enforcing safety protocols, emergency procedures, and behavioral guidelines.
Serve as the primary point of contact for parents, addressing any concerns or inquiries related to the camp program and participants.
Conduct regular staff meetings and training sessions to provide support, feedback, and professional development opportunities to staff members.
Collaborate with program coordinators and administrators to evaluate the effectiveness of the camp program and make recommendations for improvement.
Maintain accurate records and documentation related to program attendance, incidents, and participant feedback.
Assist with the planning and organization of special events, field trips, and other activities to enhance the camp experience for participants.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by camp management.
Qualifications:
Previous experience working in a supervisory or leadership role, preferably in a youth camp or recreational setting.
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with camp staff, parents, and participants.
Knowledge of youth development principles, behavior management techniques, and safety protocols.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
Must pass a background check.
Shift Times: Monday-Thursday, 7:30 am - 5:30 pm, and Friday's 11:00 am - 3:00 pm

As the Youth Academics Coordinator for our 6-week program, you'll oversee and lead two workshops while training interns to ensure the effective delivery of our curriculum. You will receive a stipend of $750, paid in two installments: $375 at the beginning of the 3rd week and the remaining $375 on the last day of the program.
Responsibilities:
Financial Literacy and Entrepreneurship Workshop Leader:
Teach fundamental financial concepts like budgeting, saving, and investing, as well as entrepreneurship principles, to children aged 5-15.
Design interactive lessons tailored to different age groups and incorporate English language instruction where necessary.
Engage participants in real-world scenarios to reinforce financial decision-making and entrepreneurship skills.
Train and mentor four youth leaders to assist in workshop delivery.
Develop comprehensive curricula for both workshops for youth leaders to execute in your absence.
Additional Responsibilities:
Monitor and ensure the implementation of all workshop curricula.
Conduct training sessions for interns during the dedicated first week.
Alternate between workshops, providing oversight and guidance.
Collaborate with camp staff to integrate workshop activities into the overall camp program.
Summer Enrichment Program Workshop Coordinator for Chess Club, Gardening, and Boxing Fitness
Overview:
Join us for an exciting opportunity to coordinate and lead three dynamic workshops in chess, gardening, and boxing fitness/martial arts for children aged 5-15 in our 6-week summer enrichment program. As the Workshop Coordinator, you will oversee all aspects of the workshops, train interns, and ensure the successful implementation of the curriculum.
Responsibilities:
Workshop Leadership & Curriculum Development: Lead engaging workshops in chess, gardening, and boxing fitness. Develop age-appropriate lesson plans and activities to enhance participants' skills and knowledge in each area.
Youth Leader Training: Train and mentor a team of four youth leaders, ages 16-18, to facilitate workshops and provide support to participants. Provide guidance on effective leadership, workshop facilitation, and mentorship techniques.
Intern Training Week: Dedicate the first week of the program to training interns on workshop leadership, curriculum delivery, and mentorship strategies.
Workshop Coordination: Coordinate resources, materials, and equipment needed for workshops. Ensure workshops have necessary supplies and suitable spaces for activities.
Participant Engagement & Safety: Monitor workshops to ensure participants' engagement, safety, and adherence to workshop guidelines. Address any issues or concerns promptly.
Qualifications:
Experience in workshop coordination, youth leadership, or education preferred.
Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
Ability to mentor and guide youth leaders effectively.
Proficiency in chess, gardening, or boxing/martial arts fitness is desired but not required.
Stipend Details:
Total stipend of $1,000 to be paid in two installments.
First installment of $500 disbursed at the beginning of the 3rd week.

Joining our 6-week program as the Drumline Workshop Leader, you'll engage children ages 5-15 in learning drumline techniques while fostering a sense of rhythm, teamwork, and creativity. As compensation for your valuable contribution, you'll receive a stipend of $500, paid in two installments: $250 at the beginning of the 3rd week and the remaining $250 on the last day of the program.
Responsibilities:
Teach participants basic drumline skills, including drumming techniques, rudiments, and cadences.
Lead drumline rehearsals and practices, focusing on synchronization, timing, and precision.
Develop and implement engaging and age-appropriate drumline routines and performances.
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages collaboration, self-expression, and musical growth.
Train and mentor four youth leaders, ages 16-18, to assist with drumline rehearsals and provide support to participants.

This workshop aims to provide participants with practical knowledge and hands-on experience in the art of haircutting. For your valuable contribution, you'll receive a stipend of $500, paid in two installments: $250 at the beginning of the 3rd week and the remaining $250 on the last day of the program.
Responsibilities:
Develop a comprehensive curriculum covering topics such as haircutting techniques, sanitation and hygiene practices, client consultation, and styling.
Conduct engaging and interactive lessons tailored to the diverse learning needs of participants, ensuring a supportive and inclusive environment.
Demonstrate proper barbering techniques and procedures, providing step-by-step guidance and feedback to participants.
Supervise and mentor participants during hands-on activities, offering encouragement and constructive criticism.
Facilitate discussions on professionalism, customer service, and entrepreneurship in the barbering industry.

Integrated Sports and Team-Building Workshop
Overview: The Integrated Sports and Team-Building Workshop combines basketball skill development with team-building activities to promote physical activity, sportsmanship, teamwork, and cooperation among participants.
Responsibilities:
Skill Instruction and Activity Design: Teach fundamental basketball skills, including dribbling, passing, shooting, and defensive strategies, tailored to participants aged 5-15. Additionally, organize and facilitate a variety of team-building games and activities suitable for enhancing cooperation, communication, and camaraderie.
Drills, Exercises, and Challenges: Conduct skill-building drills, exercises, and mini-games during basketball sessions to develop participants' proficiency and confidence in the sport. Simultaneously, lead interactive group challenges and exercises to emphasize teamwork, problem-solving, and inclusivity.
Individualized Coaching and Youth Leader Training: Provide personalized coaching and constructive feedback to participants in both basketball and team-building activities, assisting them in improving their skills and understanding of teamwork. Train and supervise four youth leaders, ages 16-18, to assist with conducting drills, facilitating team-building exercises, and providing support to participants.
Emphasis on Values and Supportive Environment: Emphasize the importance of teamwork, sportsmanship, fair play, and cooperation throughout all sessions, fostering a positive and respectful environment where participants feel encouraged and supported to participate actively.

Integration with Camp Program: Collaborate closely with camp staff to integrate sports and team-building activities seamlessly into the overall camp program, enhancing the holistic and enriching experience for all participants.

Note* All workshops are twice a week except the barber workshop. The barber workshop is once a week.
Workshops will operate on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays only.
